A Single Dream. A World of Hope
Terry Fox’s Dream was that one day there would be a cure for cancer and his goal was to raise $1.00 from each Canadian Citizen.
All we ask each year is for each child to consider Terry’s goal and bring in $1.00. However, the support for Terry’s dream is much stronger here in Torbay and we have been named as the top supporting school for Terry’s cause. This year we raised over $7300.00.
We began our day on Friday, September 25th with a visit from Fred Fox, Terry’s brother, who spoke of Terry’s determination. Later in the day staff and students were joined by friends, family members as we did our third annual walk in aid of cancer. The RNC and the Torbay volunteer Fire Department, along with Sparky the fire dog and Torbay mascot, Olie T, provided an escort service for us. At this time each year we especially remember a little boy, Ryan Hicks, a former student.
At Holy Trinity Elementary, we are committed to carrying on Terry’s Dream.
