Grade 3 - 4 Christmas Concert

The Grades 3 & 4 classes performed a beautiful musical called "The Mice Before Christmas."  Students thoroughly enjoyed preparing and performing which was quite obvious to anyone who came to enjoy the festive treat.

Fire Prevention Week

We take Fire Prevention Week very seriously at Holy Trinity Elementary. During the week all staff and students have several practice fire drills. One fire drill is a surprise visit from the Torbay Volunteer Fire Department. We continue to practice fire drills throughout the year and try to improve on our time each drill.   On Thursday, Mr. Bob Webber and Mr. Mike McGrath visited some grade one classes to discuss fire safety and play a question and answer game. They were pleasantly surprised with the insightful questions and the thoughtful responses from the grade one children.   All children are invited to come to the Torbay Fire Department open house tonight,  Thursday, October 8th. There will be prizes and a demonstration of the “Jaws of Life.” Lots of treats for the Kids. See you there.

A Single Dream A World of Hope

A Single Dream. A World of Hope   Terry Fox’s Dream was that one day there would be a cure for cancer and his goal was to raise $1.00 from each Canadian Citizen.   All we ask each year is for each child to consider Terry’s goal and bring in $1.00. However, the support for Terry’s dream is much stronger here in Torbay and we have been named as the top supporting school for Terry’s cause.  This year we raised over $7300.00.   We began our day on Friday, September 25th with a visit from Fred Fox, Terry’s brother, who spoke of Terry’s determination. Later in the day staff and students were joined by friends, family members as we did our third annual walk in aid of cancer. The RNC and the Torbay volunteer Fire Department, along with Sparky the fire dog and Torbay mascot, Olie T, provided an escort service for us. At this time each year we especially remember a little boy, Ryan Hicks, a former student.    At Holy Trinity Elementary, we are committed to carrying on Terry’s Dream.
